Bayelsa State Government is set to organize Niger Delta Carnival in the State during the yuletide season
The commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Iti Orugbani disclosed this when he presented a letter of Endorsement to Niger Delta Reporter Newspaper in his office in Yenagoa.
Dr. Iti Orugbani said that the endorsement letter would serve as a synergy between the State Government and Niger Delta Reporter Newspaper in organizing a hitch free carnival in the State during the yuletide season.
The Culture and Tourism boss noted that the carnival is the maiden edition and would be properly utilized to showcase the state’s numerous heritage and Tourism potentials to the international community.
Earlier, the publisher of Niger Delta Reporter Newspaper, Hon. Felix Idowu had intimated the commissioner that the carnival would serve as a uniting force among the Niger Delta States.
Mr. Idowu hinted that the festival would be rotational within the region and Bayelsa State is selected to host the maiden edition due to its unique peculiarity of being a core Ijaw State.
The Publisher enumerated activities such as Golf Kitting, carnival essay writing among other competitions as part of events that would be featured during the carnival.
In his vote of thanks, Hon. Idowu expressed gratitude to the State Government for finding the Niger Delta Reporter Newspaper worthy to be part of this epoch making event in the history of Senator Douye Diri Prosperity Administration in Bayelsa State.
