New year: KOGI STATE FORMER DEPUTY GOVERNOR REJOICES WITH KOGITES, NIGERIANS


 

The former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Elder Simon Achuba has rejoiced with Kogites and Nigerians for making it to the new year, the year, he described as “year of divine favour”.

Elder Achuba, in a new year message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Akor Sylvester, said every mortal being has reason to celebrate a new year for the privilege to live, make amend and reconcile with the creator.

He called on Nigerians irrespective of their tribes or religions to embrace peace and consider unity and mutual love for one another as a necessary condition for stability and growth in the nation’s democracy and infrastructure development.

The former Deputy Governor who inferred that God has a special place for Nigeria amongst the comity of nations, said Nigerians must close ranks and work together for peace and unity of the country.

Noting that Nigeria paid her price to earn its  democracy, the former Deputy Governor said there was “need for all of us to live together in peace  and  jealously guide it and ensure that it is  well nurtured to maturity for  economic prosperity and individual development.

He urged politicians to play by the rule as Nigerians are set to elect their leaders in this year’s general election, saying the will of God must prevail in the choice of leaders in the coming election.

He further enjoined the perpetrators of violence to desist from the act and rather work for a better Nigeria that generations would be proud of.

The former Deputy Governor particularly urged kogites to remain peaceful and hopeful and resist any act capable of causing violence during and after the 2023 general election and the gubernatorial election in the state in 2024.

He wished Nigerians a successful election and a promising 2023.
