NANS -Joint Campus Committee of Kogi State Frowns at prolonged ASUU Strike


 

… says it’s long overdue, called on necessary quarters to borrow a leave from the Gov. Bello led administration and make education a priority.

 

A COMMUNIQUE AT THE END OF THE ENLARGED STAKEHOLDERS MEETING OF NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN STUDENTS -JOINT CAMPUS COMMITTEE OF KOGI STATE ON THE 11/08/2022 AT THE AMUSEMENT PARK, LOKOJA.

The meeting began as at about 6pm with a Christian opening prayer followed by the introduction.

The meeting was ably chaired by the chairman of the stakeholders forum, Hon Isah Emmanuel Ojodunwene aka Mario.

The Chairman welcomed all comrades who took their time to make it down for the meeting and equally appreciated the AG. JCC chairperson for he steadfastness.

The Chairman frowned at the prolonged ASUU strike which has become long overdue and called on necessary quarters to borrow a leave from the Gov. Yahaya Bello led administration and make education a priority.

The Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Kogi State who also double as a senior comrades who went through the academy of the association was present.

He appreciated everyone for the constant and continuous support for the government and stresses on the need to make friendship and relationship cut across boards.

He thanked the Governor, H.E. Yahaya Bello for creating a safe and conducive environment for the citizens and placing education as a major priority in his administration.

He also recognized the benevolence of the administration in youth engagement in policy making and administration.

He also recognized the youthful capacities and coordinations of the Chief of Staff who has always been supportive in ensuring youths are carried along in the activities of the government.

He appreciated the AG. JCC chairperson for organizing the educational summit at a very critical time like this when education is no longer taken as a priority by the government.

STATE OF NANS JCC
Within 2 months in acting capacity as the JCC chairperson of NANS, comr Alice Omoniyi itemized her achievement which includes:
1. Campus tour across all institutions in Kogi
2. She ensured a democratic election in schools where caretaker committee have been in place such as COE Ankpa.
3. Observes election on campuses and establishing a good relationship with the management.
4. The NANS educational summit held last week
5. Established a good and conducive working relationship with excos and union Presidents.

STATE OF THE CAMPUS
SUG Presidents were present and presented the state of their campuses which includes:
• There’s need for the total overhaul of the hostels of the Federal Polytechnic Idah
• Need the provision of borehole at the college of health science and technology.
• Payment of subvention.

NATIONAL CONVENTION

The chairman announced to the house the official date for convention. Aspirants for different offices were present and solicited the support of the state

In the closing remark by the former president of NAPS, Comr Eneji Mohammed, he thanked his Excellency Gov. Yahaya Bello for always placing education and the students at the forefront of his administration. He enjoined all comrades to push the struggle in unity and love.

The meeting came to a close as at about 8pm.
