Schools Adoption & Mentorship Program: Gov. Bello’s aide, Amb. Kemi Olawumi Gets Approval To Renovate 41 Year Old Iyara Community High School


 

The Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Kogi State on Cultural Integration, Amb. Kemi Olawumi has gotten approval of the State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to renovate a school in her community.

 

Amb. Olawumi hails from Ijumu LGA, got the nod to fix the Iyara Community High School in her home town as part of her pet project and to give back to the society.

 

The school was established in 1981 forty one (41), years ago, but is presently dilapidated, a condition under which the students learn.

As a way of making impact, the beautiful, dutiful and delectable Amb. Olawumi has however decided to adopt the school as her pet project for renovation in the next few months.

The project is to be funded solely with her salary as an appointee under the new direction led administration of Gov.Yahaya Bello, this she disclosed is in line with her efforts to compliment Gov. Bello’s giant strides in the Educational and other sectors of the State.

She added that having observed that it is a priority need of her people says she is pleased to announce the acknowledgement and seal of the Ministry of Education Science and Technology’s full support of the project.

She said the approval was given by the Commissioner, Hon. Wemi Jones under the Schools adoption & Mentorship program of the Ministry, a program that enables individuals and organizations to take up a responsibility in helping one way or the other in helping to building schools in the State as a way of complementing the Government’s efforts as funding of education he observed cannot be left in the hands of Government alone.

Amb. Kemi Olawumi while expressing her sincere thanks to Gov. Yahaya Bello for the opportunity given to her to serve her immediate community and the entire good people of Kogi State in the capacity of a Senior Special Assistant, equally appreciated the Chief of Staff to Government of Kogi State, Pharm.
