Lokoja LGA Stakeholders Mulls 10 Year Development Plan.

 

Stakeholders of Lokoja LGA have proposed a ten year development plan for the Local Government Area.

 

This development was disclosed today at the Lokoja LGA Stakeholders Forum Town Hall Meeting, under the leadership of Hon. Alh. Suleiman Baba Ali.

 

The theme of the stakeholders meeting: Chatting and Chatting Ways Forward for the Sustainable Development of Lokoja LGA.

Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Suleiman Baba Ali expressed optimism that the outcome of the meeting would help in the Sustainable Development of Lokoja LGA.

Hon. Baba Ali notes that as elders of the Local Government Area, the need to pay attention to the issues of peace and security remains sacrosanct.

The Meeting Chairman notes that peace and security remains a veritable ingredients for development and progress of any area, said it cannot be overemphasized, urged for sincere submission by the stakeholders.

The Chairman of the Stakeholders lamented the downturn of security in the Local Government, pointing out that no meaningful development would be a fluke if the issues of peace and security is not tackled.

The Chairman maintained that no individual or corporate organization would come to invest in a place that is not secured, reason why the report of other committee as important as it would be needs security for implementation.

While noting that the security situation in Lokoja LGA as at today has changed slightly from what used to be obtained in the past, described the issues of cultism and gangsterism as issues foreign to Lokoja LGA.

Hon. Baba Ali advised that as the stakeholders develop a road map for the development of Lokoja LGA moving forward, the issues of security should be made paramount.

While pointing out that a final paper which would be the outcome of the committee report would be presented to the State government for it buy in to enable a multi stakeholders implementation.

Hon. Baba Ali expressed appreciation to the people of Lokoja LGA for their show of love and commitment to the development of Lokoja LGA, said the stakeholder engagement would receive 16 committee report.

Highlights of the Stakeholders Forum was the presentation of Committee reports on Agriculture, CSO, Peace and Security as well as Culture and Tourism.

Similarly the Committee report on Sports, Health, Education, Media and Publicity as well as Politics, Religion, Women Empowerment, Road and Infrastructure where presented by Committee Chairmen.
