UMAR SHUAIB ASSUMES OFFICE AS ACTING PROVOST KOGI STATE COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGY, IDAH


 

Sanitarian Umar Shuaib, has assumed office as the Acting Provost, Kogi State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Idah.

 

The outgoing Provost Amb. Dr Nuhu Anyegwu officially handed over to San Umar Shuaib, the new acting Provost of College of Health Sciences and Technology, Idah Kogi State having Completed his second final term as Provost.

 

The handover ceremony took place on Wednesday at the Provost office, was witnessed by the principal officers of the institution and the representatives of the College Governing Council.

 

In his handover speech, Dr Nuhu Solomon Anyegwu appreciated God for everything he has done for him, his family and the College, noting that what seemed insurmountable at inception of office, through God’s grace and cooperation of his team were surmounted.

He recounted his experience and achievements in the eight years he was the Provost of CHSTI and noted that the essence of leadership is to turn raw Materials into finished product, expressed confidence in the ability of San Umar Shuaib to take over from him in acting capacity as directed by the Goverment.

Dr Anyegwu asked those that worked with him both (Management and staff) to cooperate with the acting Provost to move the Institution forward even as he prayed to God to give him the wisdom, knowledge and strength to sail through.

Responding, the Acting Provost Sanitarian Umar Shuaib noted that he is really a child of grace to have had the privilege to step into the shoe of such a great man as Dr Nuhu Solomon Anyegwu who has laid a solid foundation in the College noting that having worked with him and learnt alot from him, He and his team have no reason not to succeed.

He said though his own approach to issues will be different from the outgoing provost, said dialogue, zero tolerance for insubordination and disrespect will form part of his approach.

He called on all the staff and students to eschew any form of indiscipline and other immoral act as he will not tolerate that, promising to operate an open -door policy and called on the members of the College who have useful ideas that will move the institution forward to bring them on .

In their separate remarks, the members of the Management and Representative of the Council both said they expect nothing less than excellence from the Acting Provost as he displayed excellent performances in the previous positions he held before now, adding that it is a privilege for the College to have someone of that wealth of experience withing the college as her Acting Provost.
