Labour Party holds Primaries in Kogi August 17th

Labour Party in Kogi State has scheduled August 17th 2024 to hold it primaries across the three Senatorial district in Kogi State.

According to a statement signed by the Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress/Trade Union Congress/ Labour Party Political Commission Kogi State, Comrade I.A. Abubakar and Secretary Com. J. Maiye disclosed that Kogi East primary for Ankpa, Bassa, Dekina, Ibaji, Idah, Igalamela-Odolu, Ofu, Olamaboro and Omala Local Government Area will hold at Our Lady Secondary School Anyigba at 10am prompt.

For Kogi West Senatorial District, the Nigeria Labour Congress/Trade Union Congress/ Labour Party Political Commission Kogi State noted that primary for Ijumu, Kabba/Buna, Koton-Karfe, Lokoja, Mopamuro, Yagba, and Yagba West Local Government Areas will hold at Jonny Events Center, Kabba while that of Ajaokuta, Ihima, Ogori-Magongo, Okehi and Okene Local Government Areas all in Kogi Central Senatorial District will take place at Dabras hotel, Okene.

The statement which was titled “Notice of expiration of tenure of executives of the labour party in Kogi State read in part “Following the expiration of the tenure of the immediate past National Working Committee (NWC) of the Labour Party (LP): the Congress through the Nationai Political Commission and other stakeholders in the Labour Party established a National Transition Committee. which was inaugurated on the 22nd May, 2024 and fully commenced operation on the 10th June, 2624.

“They directed that same be domesticated at the State, Local Government and to the ward levels.
The Kogi State NLC/TUC Labour Party Political Commission headed by Comr. I. A. Abubakar (Chairman) and Comr. J. Maiye(Secretary) with other members of the Commission have been empowered by this directive to pilot the affairs of the Party in Kogi State pending the conclusion of the Congresses to elect new Executives.

“Pursuant to its mandate of piloting the affairs of the party in the State, The NLC/TUC/LP Political Commission hereby wish to forward the schedules/activities for the party primaries which holds on the 17″ August 2024 for your necessary action. Any nomination that is not carrying the two signatories below with a stamp is null and void”.
