The Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello has inaugurated the elected executives of National Youth Council of Nigeria Kogi State chapter, National Association of Kogi Students and National Association of Nigeria Students, Kogi State Chapter, with a charge to be upright and dutiful.
Bello gave the charge on Saturday at Government house in Lokoja in celebration of Kogi@30 and inauguration of elected executives of NYCN, NAKOSS and NANS.
Gov. Bello who was represented by his Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja urged the newly executives to embibe the spirit of team work stressing that “team work brings vision to reality”.
According to him, a great leader does not work in isolation, hence the newly inaugurated executives handling various youth associations in the state and national must work in collaboration to attain multiplication.
While congratulating the newly elected executives, Governor Bello emphasized that an individual cannot win a race all by himself, as one hand he added do not wash itself clean.
In her key note address, the Secretary to Kogi State Government, Dr. Ayoade Folashade Arike thanked the state Governor and the electoral committee for the peaceful conduct of the election that brought in the executives, while urging them to be a good ambassador of youth in the and the country at large.
In his inaugural speech, the Chairman of Kogi State National Youth Council of Nigeria, His Youthfulnes Usman Ogohi Samuel appreciated the vote of confidence that all the delegates have placed on him and his team to preside over the State Council, while appreciating the support and confidence from the state Governor, the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, for their continuous fatherly role and key stakeholders.
In his word, “with your support, I am the youngest chairman of this prestigious Council which represents the mandate and belief of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello of youth taking over the mantle of leadership and governance. We can all be assured that if my role model in His Excellency has not failed, I, Usman Ogohi Samuel, will and shall not fail. I won’t let you down”, he added.
While thanking the able and capable Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth and Students Affairs for his mentorship, guide and support to the council, he lauded the outgoing chairman of the Council, for his work, vision and ongoing effort with during the period of transition.
In their various responses, the President of NAKOSS, Rachael Mojirola and the State Chairman of NANS JCC, Olorunmagba Kehinde thanked the state government for the support enjoined by Kogi student, adding that their is a strong relationship between education, student and society, promising to maximise every available opportunities to the benefit of the association they represent.
