Kogi West Senate: ‘My Legislative Experience, Antecedents Speaks Volumes’. – Hon. Karimi

The All Progressive Congress Senatorial Candidate for Kogi West, Hon. Sunday Karimi has assured the people of Kogi West of effective and rewarding representation when elected into the senate come 2023 saying the era of abandoning the people after election is over.

Speaking at an event in Olle-Bunu, Kabba Bunu Local Government of Kogi State, Karimi assured the good people of Bunu land that his representation will give a voice to Bunu nation as every tribes, groups, religion and every nation that makes up Kogi West will be recognized and accorded equal due respect.

The Senatorial Hopeful promised to perform and deliver more and better for the people of Kogi West when he is elected to the red chamber than he did for the people of Yagba Federal constituency at the green chamber.

The two term former House of Representatives member said that his score card while at the National Assembly where he represented Yagba Nation attests to his capacity, agitation for equity, fairness and justice in the distribution of projects and other dividends of democracy as no section of Yagba was left out or marginalized.

Hon. Karimi emphasized on the need for people of Kogi West to consider his account of stewardship to the people of Yagba Federal Constituency and several supports and contributions he has made towards the development and growth of Kogi West in general

“I gave good account of myself by ensuring that no ward in all the 34 wards of Yagba federal constituency is without a project to my credit.

“I have equally built bridges across the entire Kogi West by having established friendships and relationships with people from every parts of our senatorial district.

“I make bold to say that while I represented Yagba people in the National Assembly, I demonstrated unequal passion for human and physical development by becoming the first Legislator in Kogi State if not in Nigeria to initiate and register with Corporate Affairs Commission an economic outfit. I register and funded Yagba Peoples Development and Empowerment Initiative with initial take-up capital of 40,000,000 (fourty Million Naira)”.

The Yagba Peoples Development and Empowerment initiative was conceptualized by Hon. Karimi as a tool for harnessing potentials , managed by a Board of Trustees of eminent Yagba sons and daughters. It was created as an economic development strategy to provide revolving financial support to small and medium business owners across Yagba land without discrimination.

Hon. Karimi is a man who believe in equity with much respect for conventional zoning arrangement, morality and good conscience prevailed on him to reject the PDP offer of an automatic ticket to return to the House of Representatives for the third term.

Notwithstanding that he was not the only elected representatives from Kogi State, while Sen. Dino was daily harassed by the Federal government. He virtually became a lone voice, speaking for and defending the interest of the people.

Karimi, a prolific legislator contributed immensely to debates and other legislative proceedings having sponsored many impactful Bills and moved several motions to the benefits of not only Yagba people but Nigeria at large.

Though, Hon. Karimi may not be a noise maker, his achievements in the provision of Portable Water, electricity extension and supply of transformers, solar-powered street lightings, constructions of classrooms and other basics human needs evenly distributed among the 34 wards of Yagba Federal Constituency remained unmatched. In humility and quietness he has consistently showcases capacity, demonstrated passion for service, and shows integrity and character

Little wonder why his firmness and display of integrity has been misconstrued and misrepresented as arrogance, his refusal to compromised his character in the society where politics is equated to waywardness, insincerity and corrupt tendencies is seeing by many as being proud.

This is why many leaders of goodwill and some opinion molders have continue to appeal to the people of Kogi West to consider the choice of Karimi as a choice for development, equity, fairness and economic emancipation.

Karimi is described by many as representing hope for the downtrodden, development personified and an apostle of equity and good conscience.
