The parliament in general and the senate, in particular, is a citadel of representative democracy where policies, motions and laws are made to serve the common good. The Senate is a deliberate body, so it needs people who are able to talk and articulate issues convincingly through motions and debate raised.
A motion does not necessarily lead to a decision of the House. In some circumstances it may be dropped, it may be withdrawn, or the question before the House may be superseded or deffered. The ability to have your motion passed hinges on the Senator’s capacity to explain his stand and concerns in public debates. Since the quality of the senator we send determines the quality of representation we get. We should therefore send an intelligent representative with communication skills and deep knowledge and understanding of issues, for effective representation.
Distinguished Senator Dino Melaye, SDM, During his time in the House, has demonstrated to the constituents that he was not there to play. What makes his accomplishments unusual is that he didn’t care to know who will eventually benefit from his projects. He was not prefererntial in his delivery of democracy dividends. And today the dividends are uncountable and innumerable.
From houses for the indigent’s, widows, poor, to road constructions, even in every remote areas, massive renovations and new construction of classroom, books, academics study materials, employment for the people, SDM has done exceptionally well.
SDM, has proven himself to the good people of Kogi west Senatorial District, and all the PDP faithful and leaders in Kogi west believe in his unquatifiably, to come again and keep the good work going on. So the voters in Kogi west have tactically decided that anytime the votes will be cast, OUR CHOICE WILL BE SDM.
The choice is ours to make. Kogi PDP should exploit the opportunity that Kogi west offers in Senator Dino Melaye for the progress of the party and for the good of all.
Today, He is the most popular mantra in Kogi State as the most saleable machinery of the party, a cause which should be encouraged by all hands in the party through genuine, explicit or tacit support.
