Kogi State Govt. Reassures Commitment To Providing Potable Water


 

 

The Kogi State Government says it is not resting on its oars in making the provision of water to the people.

The State Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Abdulmumin Danga reiterated the State Government commitment to providing potable water to the people when he met with a select group of women from Gadumo area of Lokoja, said the State government is not resting on its feet, said it is working round the clock to provide potable water to the citizenry.

The Commissioner disclosed that the present administration is doing its best in making water available to the people at all times, stressed that the noticed challenges observed and complained about were temporary, technical issues, had sinced been addressed, assured that the present administration has the welfare and well-being of the people at heart.

The Commissioner explained that the Ministry is using several ingenuity with the support of the present administration to provide potable water to the people, appealed to the people to cultivate the habit of water storage and not expect that water will be flowing by the minutes.

He lamented that the supply of water to the citizenry had to be done in the early hours of the morning, explained that until that Policy changes, urged the people to learn the habit to save water when water is pumped.

The Commissioner described the love to constantly and consistently provide potable water to the people as unprecedented, urged the people to reciprocate by protecting water infrastructure, paying their bills and ensure that the water supplied is not wasted, but stored in reservoir and containers.

The Commissioner while assuring that the Ministry has an inventory of areas were water hardly gets to when water is supplied, assured that, that challenge would soon be a thing of the past.
