KOGI STATE GOVERNMENT UPDATES BENEFIT PACKAGE , DRUG AND PROFESSIONAL TARRIF FOR INSURANCE HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS
Kogi State government through the state Health Insurance Agency has reviewed her health insurance benefit package, drug and professional service tarrif to mitigate the effect of the rising inflation on medical products and services.
The Executive Secretary of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, Dr Adekunle Aledare made this known during an interactive session with health care providers of the Agency held at Dafeyo hotel Lokoja last week.
Dr Aledare said the essence for the review of the benefit package and the incentive provided by the new professional and drug service tarrif is to ensure a win-win situation for the health care providers, the Agency and the enrollees of the programme.
During the interactive session, the Board Chairman of the Agency, Pharm. Suberu Arikochonu charged the health care providers to always comply with the operational guideline of the Agency stating further that they should avoid the temptation of shortchanging the enrollees. He maintained that providers should not add to the already heightened out of pocket expenditure which prevails in the economy as the Agency is always striving to reduce the out of pocket expenditure of its enrolles.
The Head of Operational Standard and Quality Assurance of the Agency, Dr. Mariam Abdulsalam called on health care providers to always ask for pre-authorization code for secondary services to justify their fee for service claims.
In a closing remarks, the Head of Corporate Affairs of the Agency, Maria Aliwo thanked all the participants at the interactive session and wished them a continued productive partnership with the Agency
