Kogi State Government Reaffirms Commitment to Ending Gender-Based Violence

As the world marks the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), the Kogi State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to ending GBV in the state.

The Secretary to the State Government, Dr. (Mrs.) Folashade Arike Ayoade, has been at the forefront of efforts to combat GBV in Kogi State.

Recently, she intervened in the case of a 12 year old girl who was raped by a 30 year old man and left pregnant.

Dr. Ayoade’s swift response through The Bridge Inspire Foundation has brought hope and succor to the victim and her family. This intervention demonstrates the state government’s commitment to protecting the vulnerable and upholding justice.

“Gender-Based Violence is a scourge that must be eradicated from our society,” said Dr. Ayoade. “As a government, we will continue to work tirelessly to prevent GBV, support victims, and hold perpetrators accountable.”

The Kogi State Government is calling on all citizens to join the fight against GBV. “Everyone has a role to play in preventing GBV,” said Dr. Ayoade. “Let us work together to create a safe and just society for all.”
