Kogi Solid Minerals Commissioner Rated Outstanding Human/Community Developer in Kogi LGA.
The Kogi State Commissioner For Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Bashiru Gegu, today bagged Kogi Outstanding Human/Community Development Award.
The award was presented the Engr. Bashiru at the 2025 The Nigerian Post Newspaper in conjunction with the Margaret Ekpo Biographical Centre Calabar Humanitarian Award.
In his remarks, the Editor in Chief The Nigerian Post Newspaper and Registrar Margaret Ekpo Biographical Centre Calabar Lokoja Chapter said the award is in recognition of Engr. Bashiru’s contributions and positive impacts to the society, particularly with emphasis to his impact on Kogi LGA.
He lauded his positive impact on the lives of the people, pointing out that the Commissioner stands out as most impactful in putting smiles on the faces of the people amongst the past and present set of politicians.
He lauded his positive impact in the areas of education, Empowerment Schemes for women, said he has personally and through other institutions provided infrastructure development to Kogi LGA more than any other individual.
Making their separate remarks, the Commissioner of Police, Represented by ACP Idris Mohammed, the Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Prof Salisu Usman Ogbo and the Special Adviser on Labour Matters Comr Onuh EDOKA and others described Engr. Bashiru as a gift to the people of Kogi LGA.
