Kogi sets up 15 man implementation Committee for establishment of University in Okunland


 

The Kogi State Government will in the next one week set up a 15 man implementation Committee for the establishment of the State University expected to be located in Okunland.

 

Recalled that the Kogi State Government through the State Executive Council Meeting held today, approved the establishment of a State University to be situated in Okunland.

The decision of the State Government to establish the University in Okunland was sequel to a memo presented by the Commissioner For Education Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones.

Briefing the Press after the State Executive Council Meeting, Hon. Jones said the 15 man implementation Committee will be made up of erudite Professors from across the State.

The Commissioner disclosed that part of the function of the implementation Committee would be to determine the location, name, whether the University will be specialised or conventional, source of funding as well as prepare the University for accreditation by the National University Commission.
