Kogi police command receives BoT, members of caretaker committee of ICDA, pledges support ….set to prosecute forgers.


 

Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Edeh has promised a robust working relationship with the Incorporated Board of Trustees and Caretaker Committee of Igala Cultural Development Association (ICDA), including the Kogi East Neighbourhood Watch to stem criminality in the east flank of the State.

CP Ayuba assured the members of the Caretaker Committee that was led on a courtesy call on him in the headquarters of the Police Command in Lokoja on Wednesday by the Incorporated Board of Trustee Chairman and Secretary, Dr Simeon Oyiguh and Hon. David Inah Ogu respectively that the command is ready to work with the cultural association to bring a lasting peace to an area of the state that was bedevilled with cases of incessant kidnappings, armed robberies and bandits invasions.

The State Police boss stated further that the case of impersonation, forgery and others levied against former ICDA President, Sadiq Amodu Abubakar before the command, in respect of issues relating to BoT and Caretaker Committee is receiving attention, stressing that he will act appropriately once the report of the investigation reaches his office.

He commended the Incorporated Chairman of ICDA , Dr Simeon Oyiguh, in particular, for his relentless efforts in strengthening intelligence towards making sure the fragile security in the eastern part of the State is relatively eased out, adding that a special squad created by Inspector General of Police has taken position in some strategic areas; besides having 21 people in place in each local government to ensure effective community policing.

The State Police Commissioner who was visibly sad over the demise of late Atta Igala, Micheal Idakwo Ameh11 and the Achadu of Igala land sympathised with the Igala nation , noted that his last moments with the deceased will ever remain evergreen; saying that a big vacuum has been created by their transition to eternity in the kingdom.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Incorporated BoT of ICDA , Dr Omakoji Oyiguh, appreciated the efforts of CP Ayuba and his operatives’ due diligence of the inter phase with the Incorporated Trustees and the Caretaker Committee members, when a letter to the Acting Chairman, Igala Area Traditional Council found its way to the command.

“The Incorporated Trustees is pleased with the manner the officer in charge of the State Investigation Bureau (SIB) and his men interacted with our team very professionally”, he said.

He stated that the essence of the courtesy visit is to present the members of Incorporated Trustees and the Caretaker Committee of the Association, led by Chief Sam Oyibo, a retired Director of the Federal Civil Service to his command.

“The committee was carefully selected to be able to deal with series of issues, including security, and to be able to midwife a successful election that will usher in a new set of executive committee that will exhibit knowledge of the law of the land, respect for the culture and customs of the people”, he stressed.

He added that “we are confident that the report of the inter phase with us and the subsequent investigation is before you. If this is so, you would have seen without difficulty why the Incorporated Trustees painfully had to remove the former executive committee led by Sadiq Amodu Abubakar”.

The Incorporated Trustees therefore urged the State Police Commissioner, among others and as a matter of urgency to address the case of forgery that was being investigated by his command against the former president of ICDA, Sadiq Amodu Abubakar.

That the police command should kindly instruct the Area Commander and DPO responsible for Anyigba to provide security for the Caretaker Committee at the Igala Unity House, as it commences its public interactions on constitutional amendment, and subsequently conduct election.

Also, that Cp Ayuba should intervene in the circumstances of the Sadiq Amodu led exco financial transactions with the accounts he opened without the knowledge of the Board, and which he has been reluctant to be accountable to the Board as the registered legal owners of the Association

And that the CP Ayuba should kindly advise the newly purportedly installed members of the Board of Trustees to in the interest of amicable development of Igala land and kingdom desist from parading themselves as such.

The BoT Chairma handed over the constitution and certificate of incorporation of ICDA from CAC to CP Ayuba Edeh for the record of the Command.
