KOGI POLICE COMMAND FOILS KIDNAPPING ATTEMPT ALONG OKENE OKPELLA ROAD


 

Today 22nd December, 2020, Kogi State Police Command foiled kidnapping attempt along Okene-Okpella road and recovered one AK47 rifle.

Consequent upon an information received from one good Nigerian who sighted some armed hoodlums in the bush while approaching the highway to carry out their heinous crimes, the Police patrol team attached to Okene Area Command immediately moved to the location on sighting the Police, the hoodlums opened fire and the Police engaged them in a gun duel. When the hoodlums were overpowered by the Police, they fled and abandoned one AK47 rifle with four rounds of ammunition. The rifle was recovered.

While assuring members of the public of adequate security measures put in place to ensure crimes free Yuletide, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ede Ayuba Ekpeji psc (+) calls on the good people of the State to cooperate with the Police and other security agencies by volunteering timely and credible information on the activities of criminal elements throughout the festive season.

The Commissioner of Police wishes all Kogites a peaceful and happy Christmas celebration’s and a prosperous new year in advance.
