The Kogi State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Engr. Sam Uhuotu has been accused of compromised by the Ofu LGA Chapter of the Party, consequently, the Party’s Executive at the Local Level have passed a vote of no confidence on his Leadership.
The Chairman was described as a sale out, asked to be prepared to lose Ofu LGA as his decision to recognize the impeached party Chairman, Engr. Gabriel Etanyi would undermine the success of the Party in the forthcoming general election.
The Ofu PDP accused the State Chairman at a press briefing in Lokoja, addressed by the Public Relations Officer, Hon. Adaji John, said having followed due process in the impeachment of Engr. Gabriel Etanyi, alledge that the State Chairman compromised, said he is working in many ways to frustrate the activities of the Ofu PDP.
The Ofu PDP at the Press Conference lamented that despite the impeachment, the State Chairman is still recognizing the impeached party Chairman, described Engr. Uhotu as frustrating the Ofu PDP an action that has negatively impacted on the party..
The Ofu PDP asked the State Chairman to reverse himself within forty eight hours of his impunity or he the State Chairman face impeachment from the Local Government Chapter as he has lost credibility and respect of Ofu LGA Chapter of the party.
The Ofu PDP called on the National Working Committee of the Party to quickly look into the complain of the Ofu PDP so that the party does not unquantifiable suffer losses in the forthcoming general election because of the State Chairman, called on NWC, State Party leadership to wade in and save Ofu PDP.
The Ofu PDP described the non recognition of the impeachment of the former Chairman as a decision that has come to stay, warned against any hidden agenda by the State Chairman, called on the National Working Committee of the Party to allow Justice to Prevail.
Other speakers at the briefing, Akawu Nathan Onogwu, Treasurer, Hajia Mariam Laraba Ukwenya, Woman Leader and Hon. Momosani Musa Isah the Acting Chairman of the PDP in Ofu LGA, warned against complecency by the PDP State Chairman as it would negatively affect the party in the coming election.
A leader of the Ofu PDP, Hon. Okpanachi Attah, said the impeachment of the Party Chairman followed due process, called on the State Chairman not to toy with the destiny of the party, as it would lead to collosal damage for the PDP.

THE UNDEMOCRATIC ATTITUDE OF THE KOGI STATE PDP CHAIRMAN ENGR. SAM OHOUTO OVER THE IMPOSITION OF IMPEACHED OFU LG PARTY CHAIRMAN ENGR GABRIEL ITANYI.
Gentle Men of the press, Ladies and gentlemen.
We call you here this afternoon being 31/10/2022 to brief you, the General Public and particularly the National Working Committee of PDP on the State of PDP in Ofu LGA, of Kogi State .
Recall that on the 28th of June, 2022 a vote of no confidence was passed on Engr. Gabriel Itanyi the PDP Chairman Ofu LGA by 2/3 of the Local Government Executive Committee which led to his Impeachment following his Suspension over Allegations of gross misconduct, high-hardedness , Financial Misappropriation which have rendered the party unpopular, among other things in Ofu LGA.
The State Working Committee was duly communicated accordingly. Upon the receipt of the Impeachment letter of Engr. Gabriel Itanyi. The State Working Committee in their Wisdom set up a five (5) man Committee Headed by Hon Sam Abenemi; the Deputy State Chairman to look into the matter with the mandate to verify and ascertain the authenticity of the Signatories and to see if due process
was followed.
On the 4th of September, 2022 the committee invited all the Local Government Executive Committee including the impeached Chairman Engr. Gabriel Itanyi. after several interrogation, the Committee reports upheld the Impeachment of the Chairman which was further submitted to the State Working Committee on The 19th October, 2022 and it was unanimously approved and ratified by all Members only for the State Chairman to unilaterally give Contrary order for non Implementation of the Impeachment for his sinister motive; the action which is considered undemocratic, unconstitutional and abuse of the democratic tenet which
the party PDP is known for.
Gentle men of the press, we have it on good authority that the State Party chairman has been compromised and been paid to frustrate the activities of PDP in Ofu Local Government and Kogi East in general.
We therefore call on the party Leaders and National working Committee to impress on the State Chairman Engr. Sam Ohotu to recognize the acting Chairman, Hon. Momosani Musa Isah as we’re determine to deliver PDP in all election.
