Kogi NULGE Reelects Comr. Mohammed Sanusi for Second Term at 8th Quadrennial Conference
The Kogi State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees has reelected Comr. Mohammed Sanusi as state president for another four-year term.
The election held on Thursday at the union’s secretariat during the 8th State Quadrennial Delegate Conference 2026, with National officers of NULGE serving as presiding officers. All 189 delegates, nine from each of the 21 local government areas, returned Sanusi through a unanimous voice vote.
In his post-election address, Sanusi pledged to sustain efforts on members’ welfare and run an open-door administration.
He commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for prompt salary payments, leave bonuses, implementation of the new minimum wage, promotion payments, and ending percentage salary payments, saying the administration had “wiped away the tears” of local government workers.
Sanusi also acknowledged the support of the State Accountant General and the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, Comr. Onuh Edoka. He urged members to enroll with the State Health Insurance Agency, noting that arrangements had been concluded.
Representing National President Comr. Aliyu Haruna Kankara, North Central Vice President Comr. Terungwa Ibeh expressed confidence that NULGE under Sanusi would continue to grow. Deputy General Secretary Comr. Ayodele Emmanuel, who conducted the election, praised delegates for their peaceful conduct, while National Welfare Officer Comr. Abutu Thomas said Sanusi’s reelection reflected his performance and the expectation to do more.
Also present was Comr. Jenifer, HOD Education at the National level, and Comr. Tade Adeyemi, immediate past Kogi NULGE president and Senior Special Assistant to Gov. Ododo on Civil Service Matters.
Others elected alongside Sanusi include Bala Ibrahim as Deputy State President, Mohammed Mariam Kaka as Deputy State Woman Leader, Ololiko Musa as Treasurer, Umar Yakubu as State Trustee, and nine other executive members.
Sanusi’s current tenure ends on 29th July 2026.
