Kogi NUJ Lifts Boycott order On Comr. Idris Miliki, CHRCR Activities.

The Kogi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ has lifted the boycott order it placed on the coverage of activities of Comr. Idris Miliki, Executive Director, Conscience For Human Rights and Conflict Resolution.

This followed a reconciliatory meeting brokered by Kogi NGOs Network, KONGONET held on Thursday in Lokoja.

Recall that the Union on 18th July, 2022 had suspended coverage of activities of the NGO following Comr. Miliki’s verbal and unwarranted attacks on the NAWOJ Chairperson, Mrs. Ann Olurinde.

According to a communique issued after the meeting and signed by The NUJ Chairman, Comrade Adeiza Momohjimoh , Idris Miliki and Chairperson, KONGONET, Ambassador Idris Ozovehe Muraina, the Union lifted the boycott following the apology tendered by the Executive Director at the peace meeting, noting that the apology to the NAWOJ Chairperson and NUJ was accepted in the spirit of brotherhood.

While commending members for their solidarity and support, the union assured that it would continue to protect its members whose duties are to ensure responsible journalism.

It urged members to resume the coverage of Idris Miliki’s activities in order to promote good brotherliness and forget about the past.
