KOGI NGOs NETWORK (KONGONET), Calls for a peaceful and acceptable council’s election.


 

The chairman of civil society networks in Kogi State Idris Ozovehe Muraina, earlier this morning while addressing the press before KONGONET Observers sets out for observation duty calls for a peaceful, free, fair, credible and acceptable council’s election. In his address, he said civil society organizations are glad to participate in this electioneering process as observers after several calls for council’s election in the state. He said meaningful participation is the pride of democracy and it should be encouraged at all levels of governance. The network called for professionalism amongst the SIEC officers and her field election workers, the netw went further to encourage electorates to come out in their numbers to elect their council leaders for a more productive and people oriented governance at the local government level as he maintained that local government touches the base in the development of any State.

He wishes the electoral umpire best of luck as he called on the security personnel to take full charge of the security and lives of Kogites as we match into the election proper.

Kogi NGOs Network (KONGONET) is a coalition of Civil Society Networks Championing the promotion of participatory democracy, good governance and network coordination in Kogi State through advocacy and policy influencing for the well-being of Kogites.
