By joshua Kogi LGA Chairman Declares Area Solidly Behind Tinubu, Ododo Ahead of Elections
The Chairman of Kogi Local Government Council, Hon. Musa Abdulmalik, has said the local government remains peaceful and firmly aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Hon. Musa made the declaration on Monday while receiving the Workplace Security Campaign team led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka. He described the sensitisation tour as timely, relevant and result-oriented, adding that the governor’s track record in office speaks for itself.
According to him, one good term deserves another, and the people of Kogi LGA appreciate the administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare and overall development. He commended the Special Adviser and his team for embarking on a rigorous campaign across the state and thanked the governor for approving the programme.
“This visit is the first of its kind, considering the calibre of former and present labour leaders who are genuinely committed to the growth of the state. I can see strong support for Governor Ododo. I am grateful indeed and there is no doubt that Kogi Local Government is a family local government and stands firm with Ododo and President Tinubu,” Hon. Musa said.
In his remarks, the NULGE Chairman in the area, Comrade Yakubu Mohammed, praised Governor Ododo for his welfare programmes for the workforce. He said workers in the council are solidly behind the re-election of both the governor and the president. Comrade Yakubu announced a vote of confidence on the governor and commended him for appointing Comrade Onuh Edoka as Special Adviser and other former labour leaders into various positions.
The Kogi State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Gabriel Amari, who also addressed workers, urged them not to be swayed by desperate politicians. He said Governor Ododo has done enough to justify re-election, particularly in the area of workers’ welfare.
Team leader and Special Adviser on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka, took participants through tips on workplace security. He advised workers to always inform colleagues of their whereabouts, avoid enmity with neighbours, and make decisions that would secure their future. He emphasized that job security remains a priority under the current administration.
Comrade Edoka thanked the Council Chairman for his humility and for personally receiving the team, and assured him of the continued support of workers in the state.
