The administration of Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello has approved the commencement of the state health insurance scheme for all Kogi civil servants.
Briefing newsmen at the end of the state Executive Council meeting on tuesday, the state commissioner of health, Dr Haruna Saka Audu said the programme is for the benefit of all Kogi residents noting that it will be implemented in phases starting with the state civil servants.
Dr Saka said the programme is aimed at helping Kogi people in meeting their health needs. He added that Governor Bello has always remained passionate about the health of Kogi people.
While presenting the workings of the health insurance scheme to the state executive council, the Executive secretary of Kogi state Health Insurance Agency, Dr Adekunle Aledare said the bill establishing the agency was signed into law by Governor Bello on April 24, 2019. He added that since the signing of the bill into law the agency had continued to work for the full implementation of the scheme in the state
Dr. Aledare thanked the governor and the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Haruna Saka Audu for their resilient in the establishment of the scheme in the state. He assured the state Executive Council of the agency’s preparedness for the full implementation of the scheme in the state.
