The essence of joining Politics is about service to humanity. A cursory look at the politics of Pharm. Muhammad Jamiu Asuku, a Frontline Aspirant in the APC Governorship race point to the fact that he is living for the people and every encounter brings smile on the faces of people who cross his path.
Asuku is one Pharmacist, turned Politician with the summation of his life all about rendering help to the common people without any reason and will give cheerfully without the expectation of getting anything in return.
As the Kogi State APC Governorship Primary’s hold in a few days time, Asuku as he is fondly referred, is selfless, altruistic, humane personified.
If you’re looking for one of the loyal cabinet member of Gov. Yahaya Bello who is accessible, you need not search too far, this is because, Asuku is availability personified.
In many circles of discussion, many would tell you it is easier to access Asuku, a feat that has endeared him to the people from across the State.
That Asuku represents hope for the common man and the downthroden is no longer in doubt as many who are expecting to get attention from Government will tell you that a meeting with him would put smile upon your face, with all problems expected to be solved by the government getting the deserved attention.
His greatest happiness and what makes him also go to sleep with his two eyes closed is the number of people he has helped on a daily basis.
The youngest Chief of Staff (CoS) in Nigeria to Kogi State Governor, Asuku Jamiu remains a firm and unrepentant believer in service and positive contributions to the well-being of the people.
Asuku without mincing words remains one Political actor in the GYB administration that is well loved by the people. You will not be overstating the fact that he remains a grassroots politician.
That can be noticed whenever you visit his office and his Okene residence. The number of people milling around him, is justification that like another Icon of Politics from the Central, Asuku seem to have emulated the Politics of Late A.T. Ahmed, blending it with the modern day politics of Gov. Yahaya Bello, has made him a complete grassroots politician.
If you describe Asuku as the most loyal boy of Gov. Yahaya Bello, loved by all and has given his all for the administration, you will not be over emphasizing the obvious.
Asuku has no doubt been impactful in all ramifications. He is a passionate philanthropists. Across the State, his signature in payment of medical bills, WAEC, JAMB fees amongst other interventions in time past, not mulling politics makes him best fit for Kogi Governorship.
As we speak, amongst the gladiators for the APC ticket in the State, Asuku across the Senatorial districts seems to have the most formidable and visible structure built by hardwork, Loyalty to GYB, service to the people, particularly the people down the ladder of life.
Recalled that upon his appointment, a feat considered to have helped mend fences, gave the present administration a human face from the fight some persons had thrown the administration, Pharm Asuku visited all aggrieved, wept when necessary, knelt down for others, reached out to everyone necessary, a style that was widely commended across the state.
Without mincing words, one thing that separates Asuku from the others who have thrown their hats into the ring is his acceptability. As we speak, from concrete political analysis carried out, he is enjoying massive support to the extent that the supporters of a particular Senatorial Candidate have pledged to do all that is legally and politically necessary to ensure that he gets the ticket with their block votes. This is also is ditto for the other Senatorial District where he is fully on the ground with massive support base in the youths.
A man considered to have made so much sacrifice, his loyalty to GYB and his rising profile has no doubt led to envy and jealousy from many who have looked at the crystal ball and seen that he was heading somewhere.
Asuku in the GYB cabinet is a go – getter, an unprecedented destiny helper of great repute, has by all standard washed his hands clean, reasons he can come before equity as best fit for the APC Flagbearer.
Recalled that the Mother of Asuku was kidnapped some years back by people suspected to be uncomfortable by his love by the people, felt angered that he was using the instrumentality of office to assist the people.
Those suspected to be behind the kidnap are people scared because Asuku to Many brought governance closer to the door steps of many. They were afraid because his loyalty to GYB, was untainted, measured as unprecedented, made them hatched the wicked act of the kidnap, all in a bid to dampen his morale.
Truly, Asuku has not only spent resources in time and energy, he has travelled far and wide in search of his mother all but to no avail as caused by this haters. He has suffered psychological trauma, with no trace amidst the search, with rumour having it that some people for political reasons may have been behind his travails all because of his rising political profile, his acceptance across the State and his brighter political future.
Considering the suffering for loyalty and travails of Pharm Asuku in missing and still in search of his mother, a pain caused for political reasons in this past years, many are quick to say that having shown capacity and competence to govern the State, needs the support of all to pick the APC ticket.
They conclude that Asuku should not be allowed to go empty handed having lost so much in his loyalty to GYB and services to the people, more particularly that he is loved and accepted across the State. But having shown that he also has all it takes to Govern well, it has necessitated the deafening calls for him to be given the APC ticket even though in the forthcoming contest, with a wide support base, he will still win overwhelmingly.
As the 2023 Kogi State Guber contest gathers momentum, the many travails faced by Pharm Asuku, has come to the fire with the conclusion that he should not be allowed to go empty handed. With the APC Kogi Guber as a reward for service delivery, consolidating on the achievements of Gov. Bello and for the betterment of the State.
