A top contender for the Governorship position of Kogi State, Dr Sanusi Ohiare has said security and job creation through the revitalisation of the moribound Ajaokuta steel company would be at the forefront of his administration if elected governor come January 2024.
Dr Ohiare was speaking on Wednesday at a Press Parley with Members of the Kogi State Council of the Nigerian Union of journalists, NUJ.
According to him,” having realized that no meaningful development can take place in an atmosphere of insecurity, as no business man will invest his money where it will not be safe, I will take the issue of security seriously following in the foot steps of the current administration of Alhaji Yayaha Bello who has laid solid template on tackling security challenges in the last seven years”
He also disclosed that job creation will also be given serious attention as those weaned from the world of crimes would need to be engaged in profitable ventures.
To this end, the revitalisation of Ajaokuta steel would be addressed holistically especially when all the huddles impending it’s revitalisation have been cleared by the President,vand considering the enomours Economic potentials and the number of jobs it will provide, serious attention would be given to the steel company.
Ohiare called on all delegates to the April 14th All Progressive Congress, APC primary to increase the tempo of their work for the party more than ever before, pointing out that the forthcoming APC Primary and Governorship Election remains a defining moments.
According to him,” we must work harder more than before so as to bring the youths who are aggreived from the last election on board in the new arrangements.
I am that person with requisite experience to represent the youths interest and you will not be disappointed” .
