Kogi State Government says attempts by groups or individuals to destroy the security efforts of the present administration in the state will not be tolerated.
Governor Yahaya Bello stated this in a message to an emergency expanded security meeting with traditional rulers, security agencies, local government chairmen and leaders of Miyetti Allah at the palace of the Attah Igala in Idah.

Early this week, suspected herdsmen invaded Oganenigu, Edede, Aloko communities in Dekina Local Government destroying lives and property worth millions of naira.
Following the unfortunate incident, Governor Yahaya Bello paid an on-the-spot visit to the area and held an emergency meeting with Security Heads, Local Government Chairmen, Traditional Rulers as well as leaders of Miyetti Allah from the nine Local Government Areas in Kogi East
Represented by the Deputy, Governor Yahaya Bello said government will do all it can to preserve the recognition of Kogi as one of the most secure states, pointing out that the record should be sustained.
Governor Bello warned those causing trouble in Bassa, Omala and Dekina Local Government Areas to desist from such attitude to enable the people enjoy harmonious coeistence in the area.
According to him, the recent attack on some parts of the state is unacceptable and urged leaders of Miyetti Allah and herdsmen to warn their members, stressing that anyone caught formenting trouble will be dealt with according to the law.
Governor Bello charged traditional rulers to be more vigilant and take full responsibility of their various domains, calling on Local Government Chairmen to synergize with stake holders in their areas to avoid further break down of law and order.
He commended security agencies for their quick response to the security situation in Oganenigu Omala and Bassa Local Government Areas and encouraged them to arrest those troubling the peace of the land.
The Governor commiserated with the family of those who died in the attack and prayed God to grant their souls eternal rest in paradise.
In his remarks the State Security Adviser, retired Commander Jerry Omadara, stated that government will continue to improve the security architecture of the state and commended the Governor for his efforts in protecting live and property.
In their various remarks, the heads of security agencies reiterated their determination to partner with the state government to make Kogi State a crime-free society.
