Kogi State Governor – Elect, His Excellency Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman has reiterated his commitment to sustaining the unity of the state, noting that the aftermath of November 11 governorship election is to unite the state where everyone, irrespective of tribe, religion, and political affiliation, will be carried along.
He reiterated his commitment when he received the Director, Research and planning for Kogi APC Campaign Council, Dr Salisu Ogbo Usman and his entourage on Monday 20th November, 2023 in Lokoja the state capital.
Alhaji Ododo expressed gratitude to His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello whom he described as a ‘perfect man’ for his immeasurable support and for laying a solid foundation and working template for Continuity and Consolidation.
He overwhelmingly appreciated Dr. Ogbo whom he described without mincing words as “a hero and true Kogite” for trusting and believing in Kogi Developmental Agenda.
Whilst commending his efforts in redefining Kogi State Polytechnic as Rector of the institution from what it used to be to a standard citadel of learning in the state, Alhaji Ododo said he will forever cherish the Rector for his strength of character and stance on his conviction. I will live to respect and appreciate you, he added.
The Governor–Elect noted with emphasis that God willing, his administration will consolidate on the numerous achievements of his predecessor and also, ensure the utilization of the numerous mineral resources that abound in Kogi State adding that Kogi State bordering 10 other states would enjoy the status of a state where people coming from North and South would meet and transact business. As a state we have no business with poverty, he stated.
Earlier, Dr. Ogbo whilst congratulating the Governor–Elect on the resounding victory at the November 11th poll described Alhaji Ododo’s emergence as well-deserved in all ramifications.
“What endeared you to me is your humility, your unambitious personality and we are confident that you would continue to build and sustain the legacies of His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello and as well uphold the campaign mantra – Continuity and Consolidation”, he averred.
He commended His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for putting Kogi State on the New Direction Roadmap while reaffirming the Management commitments in supporting and building on the foundation of unity, togetherness, and development laid by his administration.
Highlight of the congratulatory visit is the presentation of an artifact symbolizing divinity, courage, strength and sustainability by Dr. Ogbo in company of his entourage.
