Kogi Education Law Geared Towards Repositioning Sector For Excellence, Sustainable development, Excellence – Hon. Wemi Jones.


 

The Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones says the education law in place in the State would not only address the problems facing the Sector over the years but would also help reposition the state to sustain its excellent records witnessed under the Gov. Yahaya Bello’s administration.

Hon. Jones made the disclosure when he received in audience the Governing Council of ECWA SECONDARY SCHOOL Lokoja, described the education law assented to by Gov. Bello since the creation of the state as a milestone.

The Governing Council team of ECWA Secondary School was led by the Chairman of the Council, Hon. Erik Fiki alongside the members, Mrs Agness Ekundayo, Secretary, Engr T.K Olonipile, Chairman Education Committee, Elder Ilugbemi and Mrs Ebun Joy.

The Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the law which has taken effect, assured that it is aimed at ensuring excellence, maintaining standards and improving the quality of teaching and learning.

He disclosed that the present administration is currently building new schools across the state and embarking on the upgrade of several others, said the state has never had it good in the Education Sector.

He disclosed also that the present administration’s commitment to Education saw the education sector enjoying the highest budgetary allocation in the State budget, explained that it underscores the administration’s determination to making education the bedrock of sustainable development.

He lauded the Governing Council of ECWA Secondary School Lokoja for keying into the education law of the state, urged them to sustain the standards of teaching and learning in the school.

In a remarks, the Chairman of the Governing Council of ECWA Secondary School, Hon. Erick Fiki, commended the Kogi State Government’s drive in repositioning the the Educational Sector in the State.

He particularly praised the dogged determination of the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, said he has worked assiduously to implement the state Government’s people’s oriented programs and policies in the Education Sector.
