KOGI EDUCATION COMMISSIONER MONITORS MOCK EXAM; EXPRESSES SATISFACTION WITH CONDUCT


 

Lokoja, March 3, 2022.

The Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones, FCIB IION, on Thursday, monitored the conduct of the state centralised Mock examination, expressing satisfaction with the conduct of the candidates and the atmosphere.

The Commissioner who visited selected schools within the Lokoja metropolis unannounced, rated the ongoing Mock examination high, noting that the state is prepared for external examinations.

“I am really impressed with all I have seen; and from my interaction with the exam officers and schools visited, I think we are ready; materials are adequate and the atmosphere is very conducive”, he commented.

Hon. Jones said the Mock examination is made compulsory in the state to ensure standardisation, uniformity and improved educational standard; avvering that the state will continue to improve on her educational standards under the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello.

“We did so well in WAEC in 2020, We want to keep doing well, we want to improve on our records, we want to keep innovating and improving on our performances”, he said.

He advised the candidates not to shortchange themselves by cheating but rather assess their true performances in the Mock examination and work harder towards the external examinations

Speaking at the schools visited, the exam officers of Crowther Memorial College, Lokoja; Mr. Barkie Bamidele, Bishop Delisle College, Lokoja; Mr. Ayeoribe Jaiyeola and Harmony Secondary School, Lokoja; Mr. Ige David assured the Commissioner of adequacy and safety of examination materials.

The Commissioner also visited Government Day Secondary School, Adankolo and Scintillate International School, Lokoja along with the Permanent Secretary, Pastor Emmanuel Idenyi and other officers in the Ministry.
