KOGI COUNCIL POLLS: SULEIMAN BABANAWA ABSOLVES APC OF ANY BLAME IN DECEMBER 12TH COUNCIL POLLS.

A Chieftain of the opposition people’s Democratic party (PDP), Col.Suleiman Babanawa(rtd), has said that, the Council polls conducted by the All progressive Congress APC led Government in the state under the leadership of Governor Yahaha Bello was not different from what they had during the PDP’s reign in the state, it was a continuation of what was already in existence and was not new in the state, he said.

According to the retired army officer, the conducts of local Governments elections in the country since 2014 has been faulty and could not stand the test of free, fair and credible examination, adding that it has been a winner takes all scenario and lack Democratic credentials.

He said local government in Nigeria today cannot be called a third tie of Governments owing to how it’s been muscled and micro managed by State Governors, in other words, it is just an appendages of to state not an autonomous body as it has been celebrated or called, he stressed.
