KOGI COMMISSIONER, ENGR. BASHIR GEGU, DONATES WHEELCHAIR TO PWD IN LOKOJA

The Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Abubakar Bashir Gegu, has donated a brand new wheelchair to Mr. Muhammed Ohikwo of Ohono Community in Lokoja Local Government Area to improve his mobility and quality of life.

The wheelchair was presented to the beneficiary on behalf of the Commissioner by his aides at Ohono Community.

Speaking through his representatives, Engr. Gegu said the gesture was in line with the people-centered leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He noted that government must prioritize the welfare of vulnerable citizens.

“Government exists to serve the people, especially the vulnerable. This wheelchair is to ease Muhammed’s movement, restore his dignity, and enable him to participate more actively in community life. We will continue to identify with persons with special needs across Kogi State,” the Commissioner stated.

He further called on well-meaning individuals and organizations to support persons living with disabilities, stressing that their welfare remains a collective responsibility.

In his response, Mr. Muhammed Ohikwo expressed deep appreciation to Engr. Bashir Gegu and Governor Ododo for the intervention. He and members of the Ohono Community offered prayers for God’s guidance, protection and success for the Commissioner and the state government.

The presentation was witnessed by family members, community leaders and residents of Ohono Community.
