By joshua NO 2031 AGENDA: ENGR. BASHIR GEGU REMAINS FOCUSED ON 2027 VICTORY FOR APC

A misleading publication is circulating on social media claiming that the Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Abubakar Bashir Gegu, has declared to contest the 2031 governorship election.
This claim is false, mischievous, and the product of desperate minds bent on creating division within the APC family.
Engr. Gegu has made it clear that his only focus at this time is the overwhelming victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
It is no secret that the rising profile of the Commissioner has become a source of discomfort to political jobbers who thrive on pull-him-down politics. Rather than join hands to build, they have chosen the path of lies and propaganda, hoping to drive a wedge between him and the administration he has worked tirelessly to support and other interested party’s in the state.
But those who truly know Engr. Bashir Gegu know him to be a loyal party man, a team player, and a leader who is not power-drunk. Despite loud calls from different quarters for him to consider any position in 2027, he has consistently declined. His response has remained the same: deliver for Tinubu, deliver for Ododo, and deliver for the APC.
“It is unfortunate that some persons are already playing God with 2031, when only Almighty Allah knows who will be alive and what the future holds. For some of us who know Engr. Bashiru Gegu. He is not distracted. His task now is to consolidate the gains of the present administration,” the Commissioner stated in a live video debunking the fake graphic.
He described the trending publication as “false, misleading, and the handiwork of mischief makers” who cannot match his record of service and commitment to the people.
“The task before us as party faithful is to ensure victory for the APC across board in 2027. Nobody should cause division in Kogi West or anywhere in the state in the name of premature agitation. We must remain united with a common purpose,” he said.
Engr. Gegu further reaffirmed that he remains committed to delivering Kogi LGA and the entire state to the APC, just as he has done in previous elections. He urged supporters to ignore the distractions and channel their energy into mobilizing for the party.
“2031 is still far away. Let us pray for Allah’s guidance, protection, and long life for all of us. There is no vacancy in Aso Rock and in Lugard House. Our focus is to win convincingly and retain power for the APC to the glory of God,” he added.
The Commissioner called on the public, party members, and the media to disregard the fake news and to always verify information from official channels.
No amount of smear campaigns, blackmail, or propaganda will derail Engr. Bashir Gegu. His accomplishments speak for themselves, and his loyalty to Governor Ododo and President Tinubu remains unwavering. The APC in Kogi State will continue to move forward, united and focused.
