KEDA lauds development finance of commitment to enhancing the MSMEs sector in Kogi State, encourages more partnerships.


 

At the organized Strategic session held in Lokoja at KEDA office with the Management of KEDA and officials of Kogi State NIRSAL Micro Finance Bank, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the MD/CEO of KEDA, Hajia Rekiya Sanni urge for more collaborations focusing on capacity building for prospective businesses.

The strategic session is aimed at fostering business growth for MSEs across the State with a view to enhancing the MSMEs in Kogi state for wealth creation through entrepreneurship skills building.

While speaking at the meeting, Hajia Rekiya noted that the Result Area 3 Nigeria Covid-19 Actions, Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) shall be implemented by the agency using the Delivery Link Indicators:

1. Credit Grants.
2. Operations Cost.
3. IT Enhancement Capability.

The World Bank state assisted project shall commence implementation within the next few weeks. According to her, this project shall supports enterprises to fully resume economic activities during and post pandemic.

Hajia Rekiya reiterated that the agencies commitment to work with the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL) and the Developmental Finance Office of CBN to achieve sustainability and efficiency of MSEs business support.

While speaking at the session, Mr. Abdulazeez. E. Onotu, Bukar Makoji, Muhammed M. A of the NIRSAL Kogi CENTRAL and CBN Lokoja branch assured members of the commitment of NIRSAL as a leading Nigerian financial institution licensed to drive financial inclusion to different sectors of the economy. Adding they are ready to wok in KEDA to support the scope of MSMEs sector.

The meeting also have in attendance Mr. Akinola Akinyemi, Executive Director Operations KEDA, Mr. Usman Zubair, Executive Director Admin and Finance KEDA, Mr. Mohammed Baba Kolos, Mrs. Jemila Adam, Mrs. Safiyah Suleiman, of NIRSAL Kogi Central.
