Kabba/Bunu LGA Chairman Bans Parking Of Vehicles, Use Of Handbags Inside Worship Centres, Schools In Kabba On Security, Mandates Security Agents To Arrest Violators
The Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael has banned the use of handbags, parking of vehicles in schools, worship centres and advise all churches to have a well equiped security guards to resume constant checks and scrutiny on worshippers at their entrance points.
The restriction followed the intelligence security report of an attempt to attack worship centres through movement of vehicles, handbags and other Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). Therefore, all vehicles are to be parked outside the premises of the worship centres.
Zacchaeus, in a press statement, said the measure is necessary to prevent any security breach, urged security agencies to strictly enforce the directives that any vehicle found within the premises of the worship centres will not only be impounded but the owner with face stiff consequences for violation.
He said that the Commissioner of Police, Miller Dantawaye has directed all police officers to intensify surveillance and to liaise with stakeholders within their respective jurisdictions to ensure collective vigilance.
Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael in the statement assured the people of the local government area of adequate security through proactive measures adopted by the security agencies recently.
“As part of confidence-building measures to reassure residents and uphold law and order, Security Joint Task Force will be undertaking enhanced patrols across Kabba metropolis for public safety operations.”
“The Local Government Authority appeals to all residents to continue to conduct themselves peacefully and to cooperate with the security agencies,” Zacchaeus added.
