Given the importance of road to a community, the member representing Ibaji in the Kogi State House of assembly, Hon. Atule Egbunu, has reterated his appeal to the state government, under the leadership of governor yahaya Adoza Bello,to include Ibaji road in the 2023 state budget.
Hon.Egbunu,who made the appeal while speaking to journalists, in an exclusive interview in his residence at the legislative quarters, said the resources of the state might not be enough to lay asphalt on the road , however, he said “our concern is to see the road being motorable”.
He also said he had an obligation as a legislator to create synergy between the executive and the ligeslative arms that would translate into possitve development, begged that the ibaji road be made passable, expressed confidence that Gov. Bello would put smiles on the Peoples face.
According to the lawmaker his constituents were happy when they saw equipment moved to site to begin construction on the road, appealed for the roads to be completed.
Ibaji people, Hon. Egbunu said would continue to give massive support to the governor all through his administration.
On Kogi state,oil Wells in ibaji, the legislator challenged the Boundary Adjustment commission,to ensure the report on reconciliation recently embarked on sees the light of the day,in order to put a stop the incessant crisis involving the communities resulting in the lost of lives.
According to him, ownership is the bone of contention as regards locations two and four , saying that when this is resolved prospective companies would come and start full exploration to the benefit of the immediate communities,as well as the entire state.
Hon. Egbunu, who bemoaved the situation where lives were lost during the crisis between Kogi and Anambra states, where Echeayo and Odeke lost able body men to the crisis, posited that Ibaji is sitting on oil yet to be discovered.
He therefore, appealed to the state government, to immortalise the late Hon. John Abba, by naming one of the wells in his honour inview of his tremendous effort in resolving the crisis.
