Igalamela Odolu CTC Empowers schools in the area with teaching, writing materials Through His Foundation
The Transition Chairman of Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area, Barrister Cosmos Atabor has through his foundation, CIA Education Foundation empowered some schools in the area with teaching and writing materials.
The benefiting schools are, Igalamela/Odolu Staff Nursery and Primary School Ajaka as well as Community Secondary School Ofuloko.
The distribution of the writing materials according to its founder, Barrister Cosmos Atabor is primarily designed to Kick Out Illiteracy and improve quality of education in Igalamela/Odolu Local Government.
In his address at the ceremony, Barrister Atabor said the Foundation came on board in 2019 and has been supporting indigent students and parents in the Area.
He stated that CIA Foundation has been involved in payment of WAEC and JAMB fees for the needy since inception, with assurances that the Foundation would remain irrevocably committed to this noble goal.
“Education is very important, it open the doors to many opportunities, no nation can make progress without education, hence the commitment of CIA Foundation to join hands with other stakeholders to kick out illiteracy from our land”.
Speaking on the theme, Cause and Effect of Illiteracy, a former Provost of the College of Health Sciences and Technology Idah, Doctor Nuhu Ayegwu attributed some of the societal ills to Illiteracy, advising parents to prioritise the education of their children.
Also speaking, a former Caretaker Chairman of Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area, Alhaji Ali Atabor commended the founder of CIA Foundation for supporting the growth of education through his foundation.
The Principal of Community Secondary school Ofuloko, Abdul Idrisu and the Headmaster of LGA Staff Nursery and Primary School Ajaka, Anioko Steven Yakubu described the gesture by CIA Foundation as a relief for parents who could not afford writing materials for their wards.
The Chairman of the Local Government Traditional Council, who is also the Etemahi Igalamela, Chief Abel Etuh commended the Transition Chairman for his personal contributions to education in the area.
