… party’s says it takes cognizance of commitment of aspirants who saw reasons to step down
The Peoples Democratic Party in Lokoja Kogi Federal Constituency has sent a message of appreciation to Sen. Tunde Ogbeha, the Party’s Leader for his ability to broker peace and for enabling the party in the Federal Constituency arrive at a consensus candidate for its House of Representatives Candidate.
Hon. Shaba Ibrahim, emerged the PDP consensus candidate after a meeting between Sen. Ogbeha and the four contenders.
Other aspirants who had shown interest were Hon. Danladi Bababudon, Hon. Yabagi Bologi, Hon. Shettima Agbogun.
The PDP in a statement signed by Hon. Sam Abenemi, thanked Sen. Ogbeha for his sense of Leadership, equally appreciated the three aspirants who accepted the reasons to step down for a consensus.
According to the statement, as a fallout of the meeting, the Party has agreed to allow for a two term for every Local Government, pointing out that one term is not good enough to access a legislator.
The Party at the meeting also arrived at a consensus that adopted Barr. Shaba Ibrahim, the present serving member, who was told has begun the rotation, should be allowed to complete his second term.
The Party accepted that the rotational arrangements between Lokoja and Kogi LGA for the House of Representatives still stands with Lokoja already taking its turn, to complete it by the next term.
Hon. Abenemi in the statement expressed appreciation for the sacrifices made by the aspirants who accepted to allow Hon. Shaba to complete its turn, said the party has taken cognizance of their commitment to the Party, assurred that it would not go unnoticed.
The statement assurred that the PDP remains strong united in Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency, assurred of winning at the polls.
