The people’s Democratic Party (PDP) flag bearer for Okura State Constituency of the Kogi State House of assembly in the 2023 State Assembly election, Hon. Goodwin Meliga, has promised to ensure massive empowerment of the youth in the Constituency if elected as a member representing Okura State Constituency.
Hon.Meliga disclosed this when he visited the Chairman of the Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (Narto),Kogi east chapter, Com.Sabo Yakubu, at his Igala unity Square office, Anyingba, Kogi State, to seek the Association’s supports for his ambition.
Hon. Meliga who pleged to lobby for employments for youth of the Constituency, to ensure they are better positioned for exalted offices in the State Civil service in the future, for position like Director, permanent Secretary and other positions of higher responsibilities, further added that, skills acquisition must be their watchword due to non-availability of White-collar jobs in the Country, saying that if elected he would encourage and Support any youth who wish and wants to learn any craft,stressing that craft like tilling, painting and construction of pop are all lucrative for those with the skills.
The State assembly hopeful who described Comrade Sabo Yakubu as a man of proven integrity, also applauded him for his humanitarian gestures to the less privileged and urged the association to support his aspiration for a better Okura State Constituency come 2023.
Responding, Comrade Sabo Yakubu, assures him of the association’s support, pointing out that, Hon. Meliga has accorded him and his members the desired honour and respect, saying that he would mobilize both human and material resources for him to ensure his victory at the polls come 2023.
