The aura of victory of the APC in the just concluded gubernatorial election in Kogi State is still fresh in the air with celebration in every nook and cranny of the state. The APC folks rejoice in victory while others not so lucky or better still, who lost are dusting up documents, past records and precedents to aid their arguments in court, Alh. Usman Ododo and the APC is counting down to January to take oath of office and resume as the 6th Executive Governor of the Confluence of Opportunities.
This historical event will not be recorded hands down without the political sagacity and sleepless nights of a strategist, innovator, believer, political investor and father, Alh. Dr. Umaru Oricha.
The massive political structure of Adai Oricha (as he is popularly called) cannot be overemphasized. I had the rare privilege to be at the official resident of Adai in the build up to the campaigns and I was wowed on the level of preparedness by a single individual. If I wasn’t familiar with my route, I probably would have sworn I was in the APC candidates resident. The mamooth crowd, branded vehicles, campaign materials in preparation for the campaigns.
Less than 30 minutes I got there, I could hear over the radio of the policemen directives to pull out – I inquired to where and was told the septuagenarian is on his way to commission a campaign council and office in Koton Karfe for Ododo-Joel 2023.
It was a fun ride as I hitch on to experience a political tsunami of people that besieged the venue, despite the scorching sun that greeted that day. Ododo-Joel and the APC Mantra took Centre stage of discussions, deliberations and resolutions. Not left out is handouts in Millions in his usual magnanimity.
On the get go from Koton Karfe that day, I knew Koton Karfe is already in the kitty for Ododo-Joel and the APC.
