The month of June every year will always be remembered in the life of Mr. Sunmola Bakare, the CEO of AB Offshore Marine Services Limited as he marks another year today on planet earth. Today is an occasion to thank God for His provision, protection, kindness, care and support since stepping on this planet. Whatever you have achieved since your birth is truly from God and not man. He has excelled in all spheres of life, he has contributed his own bits to the development of his community Ogori, Kogi State and Nigeria.
For many who may not know Mr. Sunmola Bakare here is a brief run-down of his bio-data and other details about this man of substance.. Mr. Sunmola Bakare is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of AB Offshore Marine Services Limited. He hails from Ogori in Kogi State.
After his graduation from the University of Ilorin in 1984 and his National Youth Service Corps programme, he joined Mutunchi Ventures Repro Consultants between 1985 and 1991, where he rose to the position of Assistant Manager.
He later joined Marbell Nigeria Limited as the Foundation Assistant General Manager and was further appointed as the Group General Manager Business Development and Investments in 1992. He also worked with Montreal Engineering Company, Montreal, Canada in 1979 as an Earthworks Inspector.
In 1994, he was picked by Plural Limited, a former holding Company of the Guaranty Trust Bank and was made the Chief Executive Officer of C&S Prints Ltd. to help re-build the company. He served in that capacity for eight solid years.

In 2002, he started El Probitas Limited and later Aqua Seals Limited. In 2008, he founded Ashbard Marine Services Limited which later metamorphosed into AB Offshore Marine, a leading marine service company in West Africa and a licensed offshore private maritime security companies in Nigeria.
As the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AB Offshore Marine Services Limited, which is an independent Nigerian owned Offshore Marine Support Services and Logistics Company whose primary objectives are to offer support services to the oil and gas industry, with interest in the provision and operation of various types of specialized vessels for these services. AB Offshore has experienced successive growth since its inception in 2008. The company is the first to introduce purposely-built security vessels for massive marine security patrol and protection in oil and gas installations in Nigeria.
Mr. Sunmola Bakare is a topnotch management guru who attended McDonough School of Business and Georgetown University, Washington DC U.S.A in 2008 and 2009 respectively for further studies in Executive Management and Top Leadership Trainings among other trainings.
He is a member of several professional bodies across the country such as: member of the Institute of Directors of Nigeria (IOD); Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management (FNIM); Fellow of the Institute of Oil & Gas Research and Hydrocarbon (FIOGRHS); Certified Management Consultant (CMC) among several others.
He is a recipient of several awards both locally and internationally for distinguishing himself well in his work place. Among these awards so far conferred on him are: Orange Water coming from the people and Government of the Netherlands in 2010, ODU Merit Award from the Ogori Descendants Union in 2012; African Leader of Integrity Merit Award (Accra, Ghana 2019) and African Brand Congress Award-CEO of AB Offshore – Best in class marine service provider for 2018 among others. He is also a recipient of the MAN OF THE YEAR 2022 conferred on him by THE REFLECTION newspaper.
Sunmola has done so much to raise the standard and profile of management and he has worked hard to put quality systems in place to make things work more effectively and efficiently. He is a powerful administrator, a great motivator and highly intelligent personality.
Certainly, Mr. Bakare has set a fine example of what integrity and accountability are in management. There is only one reason to admire Mr. Bakare, he always stands on the side of strong principle, truth and honesty and nothing else.
