A group, Like Minds for Peter Obi, has obtained the presidential form and expression of intent for a former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi.

This, therefore, made him to officially join the race for the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Like Minds for Peter Obi, expressed the belief that Obi will steer the country the same way he ran Anambra State when he was the governor.
The leader of the group, Ekene Nwakuche, according to a statement on Thursday spoke after obtaining the form. He said Obi, who was the 2019 PDP Vice-Presidential candidate, has the wealth of experience to lead Nigeria to the promised land.

He said, “We are not in this thing because of any gain. We are doing it because of our children to come, because if we don’t get it right this time around, this 2023, I don’t know where we will be.
“Each and every one of us here knows how the country is and we want a better Nigeria. And I believe that if you are from Nigeria, be it from the North, South, East, West, and you know, you want a better Nigeria, I don’t think there is any other person that you will support than Peter Obi,” Nwakuche stated.
He urged PDP delegates in the May presidential primary, to choose Peter Obi as the party’s candidate.

He said, “If PDP gets it right and picks Peter as its candidate, we know that we will deliver Nigeria to you.”
According to him, one of the groups ‘Take Back Nigeria’, promised to deliver 10 million votes to PDP if Obi becomes its presidential candidate.
“The Nigerian dream we are all looking for can be achievable, and the only person that we believe that can give us the Nigerian dream is no other person than His Excellency, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi,” he said.
Nwakuche explained that the group is nonpartisan, adding that they bought the PDP nomination form because Obi is a member of the party.
“We are just a group of young Nigeria professionals that feels that the way the country is going, the country is not going in the right direction, and we need someone, a technocrat, a seasoned technocrat that can steer the affairs of the country in the right direction, and cut down the cost of governance.
“We believe that if we cut down the cost of governance, the country would move in the right direction.”

Meanwhile, a former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has reportedly joined a former presidential aide, Doyin Okupe, in drumming support for Obi.

Fayose, according to a trending write-up in the social media credited to him, has said that Igbo people have a large population across many states and cities in Nigeria and asked them to convert it to voting strength.

FROM THE STABLE OF AYO FAYOSE; ON PETER OBI

I love Igbos but I have to tell them the truth because I love them.

It is now a law to transmit votes electronically, that means rigging of elections has been reduced drastically.

Igbos are only tribe that have 99% of voters in the South East and second highest voters in other regions in Nigeria.

In the South West, after Yoruba votes, Igbo votes come second. Lagos has the highest number of voters in Nigeria and Igbos are competing with Yorubas in voting power in Lagos.

In the South South, we have indigenous Igbos in the South South and all the major cities in the South South are occupied by Igbos. Go to Port Harcourt you will understand what I mean.

In the North Central, go to Jos and all the state capital in the North Central, Igbos are the second largest population after the indigenous people.

In the North West, go to Kano and Kaduna and you will know that Igbos are the second largest population after indigenous people.

In the North East, go to Maidugri and all the state capitals, Igbos are the second largest tribe after the indigenous people.

Go to federal capital territory Abuja, Igbos are the largest population in Abuja today.

If Igbos truly want to determine who will rule this country today, they will but they only sit back and lament without any action.

Peter Obi is the most qualified candidate to rule this country but Igbos are not with their voter’s card.

It could be recalled that Okupe, who was a presidential hopeful had withdrawn from the 2023 race to support Obi’s presidential ambition.

Okupe, has on Wednesday during a press conference at the Iwe Iroyin Press Centre in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, said the leader of the socio-political group, Aferenire, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, had appealed to him to withdraw from the race.

Okupe also urged all other PDP aspirants from the South including Dele Momodu, Pius Anyim, and Nyesom Wike to team up with Obi, who is from the South-East geopolitical zone.

Okupe said, “Those at the helm of affairs of the party are trying to hoodwink those of us aspirants from the South to commit ourselves to obtain the required forms before coming up with the original position that ‘every zone can contest the presidency.

“This position is politically fraudulent, unjust and inequitable.”

“Two weeks ago, Pa Ayo Adebanjo called me for the first time into his bedroom. In aligning myself with the wish of our elders and in the interest of equity and justice, I publicly admit that the 2023 political race must be conceded to the South-East; that is, the Igbos.

“I, therefore, here and now proclaim that I am, as I have said publicly several times, withdrawing from the presidential race and I am declaring my support for the best aspirant not only in Igboland, but in Nigeria as a whole.

“I and my supporters within and outside the PDP are teaming up with His Excellency, Peter Obi.

“At the same time, I want to enjoin all other aspirants from the South; Chief Dele Momodu, Senator Anyim, and His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Wike to come with me and let us team up with Peter Obi.

“At the same time, I want to enjoin all other aspirants from the South; Chief Dele Momodu, Senator Anyim, and His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Wike to come with me and let us team up with Peter Obi. So we can give the South the best possible chance.”…. Continue reading
