Governor Nwifuru tasks political appointees on productivity

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has tasked the members of the executive council and principal officers of the Government to be alive to their duties towards delivering the much-needed democracy dividends to the people of the State.

 

He gave the charge at the end of the four-day training workshop organized by the Governor to his appointees in Abakaliki, the State capital.

The Governor represented by the Secretary to the State Government Professor Grace Umezuruike commended the participants for availing themselves into the training workshop, expressing hope that the workshop would go a long way in strengthening and enhancing their performances in their various ministries as well as making jobs easy for them.

He urged them to put all they have been taught into practice for optimal service delivery.

Speaking, the State Head of Service Mrs Rita Mary Okoro described the four-day training workshop as very impactful as all the participants were going homes better equipped to carry out the assigned responsibilities for the good of Ebonyi people.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation Engr. Jude Okpor applauded Gov. Nwifuru for the privilege, foresight and wisdom to organize such a training workshop for the members of the State executive council and principal officers of Government.

The Information Commissioner noted that the workshop would further enrich them in the course of their duties towards achieving the vision of the Gov. as encapsulated in his people’s Charter of Needs manifesto.

He enjoined journalists in the State to continue to partner with the State Government by reporting its policies and programmes as well as balancing their reportage at all times.

On their part, the Commissioner of Agriculture Princess Nkechi Iyioku and her counterpart of health Dr. Moses Ekuma, described the training workshop as very apt saying that it would help them to carry out their responsibilities without mistakes.

They expressed their readiness to utilize what they have learnt in their various ministries and appealed to the Governor to sustain the tempo for the overall interest and development of the State.

Other speakers included the commissioner of housing and urban development Engr. Francis Ori and his counterpart of skill and job creation Hon. Ogbu Oko Udu maintained that the training workshop has upgraded their knowledge and spirit of work and commended the Governor for his numerous achievements within 100 days in office.

The Commissioner for skill and job creation further applauded the Governor for approving the disbursement of over two million naira for each Ebonyian into street hawking and menial jobs both within and outside the State and prayed to God to reward him in hundredfolds.

The training workshop drew the presence of all the commissioners and principal officers of the Government.
