Gov. Nwifuru Pledges Conducive Environment For Investors In Ebonyi

The Executive Governor of Ebonyi State State Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has pledged a conducive environment for investors that invested the State.

He also called on Ebonyi stakeholders to invest in the State as his adminstration would give them the enabling environment for their businesses to thrive.

The Governor made the promise while commissioning the first private radio station 95.1 Legacy FM in Abakaliki that was established by the immediate past Senator that represented Ebonyi Central Zone at the National Assembly Senator Obinna Ogba.

The Governor noted that the State Government has made an investment concession law which is in favor of the investors and expressed his willingness to cooperate with whosever that wants to develop the State.

The Governor commended Senator Ogba for putting up such investment in the State which according to him has created an employment opportunity for Ebonyi people and charged the staff of the radio station to show professionalism in the discharge of their duties and be balance in their reportage.

Gov. Nwifuru who further warned the management against fake news and attack of his Government, approved the installation of electricity light and construction of road leading to the area as requested by the acting General Manager Mr. Geoffrey Chikwere and directed the State Commissioner for power and energy Hon. Peter Ogoali and his counter of infrastructure to commence the work immediately.

On his part, the chairman and chief executive officer of the station Senator Obinna Ogba thanked the governor for creating conducive atmosphere for investors, noting that the station has taken forty youths out of the streets.

Senator Ogba explained that , “The dream and voyage of establishing this media outlet did not just come overnight. It is something I have nurtured overtime. Considering that effective communication is one of the key measures of growth and development and as a lover of fairness and a decent environment, I embarked on this multi million naira project.

However, he commended the Governor for approving the recruitment of Ebonyi people into the State civil service and for resolving communal crisis that was ravaging some communities in the State and promised his continued support to his adminstration.

The acting general manager of 95.1 Legacy FM Mr Geoffrey Chikwere lauded Governor Nwifuru for creating an enabling environment for the establishment of the first private radio station in the State and assured to the use the station to promote the policies and programmes of the State Governor, adding that the station was established to create alternative way of Broadcasting in the State.

In their good will messages, the chairman of NUJ Ebonyi State council Comrade Sampson Nwafor and the South East zonal director of NBC Mrs Ijeoma Nwobodo maintained that the Legacy FM would assist in strengthening the workforce of media in the State and called on Ebonyi people to patronize them while charging the staff of the radio station to abide by the ethics of the profession in the discharge of their duties.
