Gov. Bello, Kutepa, Awoniyi, Ogbeha, Karimi, Pay Last Respect As Maigari of Lokoja laid to rest.


 

Thousands of people from all works of life, including the Gov. Yahaya Bello, Oil Mogul and businessman, Alh. Abdulrazaq Isah Kutepa, former Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi, today paid there last respect to the Maigari of Lokoja, HRH, Muhammad Kabir Maikarfi 111 Paramount ruler of Lokoja, the Maigari of Lokoja , Alhaji Dr Muhammad Kabir Maikarfi lll who died in Abuja on Wednesday at the age of 80.

 

The late traditional ruler was buried according to Muslim rite, with thousands of people within and outside the state trooping out to witness the burial which took place at the Palace of the late Maigari of Lokoja, Dr. Muhammad Kabir Markarfi lll at about 2 pm on Thursday.

An Islamic Scholar, Alhaji Khalifa AbduKadiri Zaria from Zaria in Kaduna State led the Muslim prayer for the late monarch.

Politicians, traditional rulers from across the State, Muslim clerics and top government officials from federal government and state government grace the occasion.

The late monarch was one of the longest serving traditional rulers in Kogi State having ascended the throne in 1992.

The Secretary, Lokoja Local Government Traditional Council, Muhammed Nalado Usman had early hours of today confirmed the death of the traditional ruler in a statement issued late Wednesday night.

Gov. Bello described the late monarch as a man of peace, praised him for the development his reign witnessed.

Similarly, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Isa Kutepa, described the late monarch as a father to all, said the peace Lokoja witnessed under his reign stands him out.

Yomi Awoniyi, former Kogi State Deputy Governor, prayed God to rest the soul of the traditional ruler, described him as a highly detribalized Traditional Leader.

 

Sen. Tunde Ogbeha disclosed that Lokoja has lost a father to all, prayed for the repose of the soul of the late traditional ruler.

Hon. Sunday Karimi, APC Flagbearer expressed shock with the death of the traditional ruler, described him as an Icon of peace.
