GOV BELLO FLAGS-OFF 15, 000 BELLO CARE BENEFICIARIES FREE HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAMME IN KOGI


 

 

Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello has launched and Flag-off fifteen thousand beneficiaries free health insurance programme in Kogi State.

 


The programme was made possible after the governor made available one hundred and eighty million naira as equity fund to cater for the free health care insurance for the vulnerables in Kogi State.
Governor Bello at the flag-off of the programme at Glass House, Government House Lokoja on tuesday said the Bello Care programme in the state covers the five thematic areas of his New Direction Administration which includes education, Health, infrastructural development, Agriculture and Security.
The Governor said the Bello Care programme will cater for the Health Care needs of Kogi people maintaining that his administration would provide the necessary incentives which will enable Kogi state Health Insurance Agency carry out its core mandate .
The governor called on Kogi State Health Insurance Agency to carry out its mandate with high fiscal responsibility noting that the health of the people of the state would continue to be accorded the highest priority in his administration.
Earlier the Executive Secretary of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, Dr Aledare Adekunle thanked the governor for releasing funds for the Bello Care free Health Insurance for the vulnerable people in the state. He appealed to the governor to kindly release three Hiluxs and a bus promised the agency to enable it to always carry out quality assessment of the programme across the state.
In his remarks the commissioner of Health, Dr Zakari Usman applauded the governor for his gigantic achievements in the health sector in the state. He stated that the flag-off of the Bello Care free health programne in the state would boost the health of the people of the state.
Representatives of World Health Organization (WHO), National Health Insurance Schemes (NHIS), Chairman of State Health Insurance Schemes in the country, Labour organization in the state and the Secretary to Kogi State government, Dr Folasade Ayo-Arike PHD all paid glowing tributes to governor Yahaya Adoza Bello on his programme of action in the health sector.
