Former Gov Ibrahim Idris Was A Father To All, A Pillar Of PDP – Hon. Paul Ukwenya/MD CEO Lounge 1/PDP Financial Secretary Mourns

The Managing Director/CEO of Lounge 1 and Financial Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Kogi State Chapter, Hon. Paul Ukwenya, has mourned the passing of former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, CON, Jakadan Sokoto.
In a condolence message released on Sunday, Hon. Ukwenya described the death of the former governor in the United Kingdom as a monumental loss to his family, the people of Kogi State, and the entire PDP family nationwide.
He said Alhaji Ibrahim Idris was more than a former governor; he was a father to all, a political institution, and the pillar upon which the PDP was built and sustained in Kogi State.
“Alhaji Ibrahim Idris was a compassionate leader, a generous philanthropist and a unifying force who governed Kogi State from 2003 to 2012 with uncommon humility, wisdom and large-heartedness. His nine years in office remain a reference point in inclusive governance, infrastructural development, peacebuilding and human capital development. He built people before building structures and that is why his legacy remains indelible in the hearts of Kogites,” Hon. Ukwenya said.
According to him, the late Jakadan Sokoto was a man who gave hope to the hopeless, opportunity to the less privileged and a voice to the voiceless, adding that his open-door policy and politics without bitterness endeared him to all irrespective of tribe, religion or party affiliation.
Hon. Ukwenya noted that as Financial Secretary of the Kogi State PDP, he feels the loss deeply, as Alhaji Idris remained the moral compass, the father figure and the biggest pillar of the party until his death as a member of its Board of Trustees.
On behalf of his family, the Management and staff of Lounge 1, and the PDP family in Kogi State, Hon. Ukwenya commiserates with the wife of the deceased, Hajia Aisha Ibrahim Idris, his children, the Idris family, the Government and people of Kogi State, and the national leadership of the PDP.
He prayed Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljanat Firdaus, and grant the family and the people of Kogi State the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
“May the soul of our father and leader rest in perfect peace. His place in history is secured forever,” he added.
