GOOD GOVERNANCE IN KOGI STATE.
—Governor Ododo deepens consultations with critical stakeholders, including the organized labour.

There is no gainsaying that the action governor of Kogi State,Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman is walking the talk on good governance, in keeping with his campaign promises prior to his emergence as governor and successful inurgaration in January 27,2024.
He believes strongly that good governance in Kogi state is not and should not be rocket science.
To this end, therefore, he has taken concrete and deliberate steps in embracing inclusiveness of major critical stakeholders in the task of tackling the challenges of governance in the best interest of the good people of the state.
Just like he was doing before his emergence as the 5th Executive Governor of the state,Alhaji Ododo have deepened his consultations, as he met yesterday with the representatives of the organized labour in the state.
Recall that he had also visited the former governor of Kogi State,Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, where they both cross fertilized ideas on the way forward in delivering good governance to the good people of the state.
In the meeting with the labour leaders that lasted for hours, he brainstormed with the representatives of the Nigeria Labour Congress,NLC and Trade Union Congress,TUC., with a view to seeking ways to improve the welfare of the civil servants in the State, which is a major priority of his administration.
At the end of meeting, the labour leaders commended the governor for prioritizing the welfare of the workers, stressing that their interface with the governor has opened a new chapter in their relationship, going forward.
It will be recalled that the governor had also met with representatives of the various stakeholders in the Agricultural sector in the state.
In the crucial meeting, the governor unfolded his strategic plan to invest heavily in that critical sector with a view to achieving food security in the state and generating revenue to augment the monthly allocations from the federation account.
It is common knowledge that Kogi state has comparative advantage in growing a number of agricultural products like casava,cotton and rice, to mention but a few.
The state is endowed with large and vast arable land including favourable weather to grow a number of farm products all year round.
In a related development, the administration of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman had initiated moves to harness the full potentials of the tourism sector in the years ahead.
To this end, the governor had commissioned tourism experts to carry out a holistic tour of all tourism sites in the three senatorial districts in the state, including the state capital,lokoja, that is home to a number of potential tourism sites, if properly harnessed.
It goes without saying that Kogi State could be the leading destination hubs for tourists in the country with a number of iconic historical tourism sites like Mount Pati and the Confluence of Rivers Niger and Benue,to mention but a few.
This Journalist gathered from reliable sources that the team of tourism experts led by Hajia Bilqis Abdul,the Chief Executive Officer of Bboog Travel and Tours,Abuja, had since completed their comprehensive tours around potential tourism sites in the state.
They are on the verge of submitting their report to the governor as at the time of filling this writeup.
On the whole,it is crystal clear that the administration of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman is leaving no stone unturned to deliver good governance to the good people of kogi State , who voted for him overwhelmingly in the last gubernatorial election.
Indeed,it is safe to conclude that better days are ahead for the good people of Kogi State to enjoy dividends of democracy as assured by the results -oriented governor of the state,Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman
