The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Distinguished Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, SAN, has written President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) to convey the appreciation of the academic institution to him, for nominating the university’s immediate past Vice Chancellor (VC), Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina for appointment as a Non-Career Ambassador/High Commissioner.
In the letter of appreciation to the President, FUOYE Pro-Chancellor said the university received Tinubu’s nomination of Professor Fasina for the position of an ambassador with deepest gratitude and gratefulness.
He noted that as Vice-Chancellor, Professor Fasina strengthened FUOYE’s growth and enhanced its institutional visibility.
The letter reads: “On behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Senate, staff, students and the entire community of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, I write to convey our profound appreciation to Your Excellency for the nomination of Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina, immediate past Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, as a Non-Career Ambassador/High Commissioner-Designate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Your Excellency’s gracious nomination of Professor Fasina is received by the University with deep pride, gratitude and renewed confidence. It is not only a personal honour to a distinguished scholar and administrator, it is also a national recognition of the growing stature of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti as a centre of leadership, scholarship, innovation and public service.
