Bassa people of Bassa Local Government Area of Kogi State are aghast at a frivolous and malicious write up against the Bassa speaking people of Kogi State credited to the leadership of Ukomu Igala signed by its President David Abutu and Secretary General, Sebastian Abuh published by an online blog – newsbeatmobile.com.ng dated October 1, 2022.
To the best of our findings Ukomu Igala leadership is made up of good Igalas with very sound academic background who ordinarily will not stoop so low to raise up unfounded and uninvestigated allegations against the Bassa people known for their peaceful disposition across the globe.
Our findings has also revealed that the publisher of the blog may be a member of Ukomu Igala who also might have single handedly been using the good name of Ukomu Igala to create serious crisis between the peace loving Bassas and their Igala neighbors who had lived for ages in peace in Bassa land.
Curious on the unfortunate allegations raised on the page of the blog, BASSA RAINAISSANCE – a non profit making organization dug the background of the blogger. We have since found out that the owner of the online blog – newsbeatmonile.com.ng is a sadist who was eased out of his job in 2016 by Kogi state government on the account of his baseless write up against the person and administration of Muhammed Buhari.
Unfortunately he was not eased out alone but together with his Boss in fulfilment of God’s word – ” a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.” Galatians 5:9.
A bad character often mix up with innocent ones to soil the good name of the whole. Too bad.
Now, to the allegations raised against the peace loving Bassa people, it is rather unfortunate for the blogger to use the good name of the “leadership” of Ukomu Igala to label Bassa people as cannibals.
According to the blogger ” Apart from the indiscriminate killings, victims bodies are allegedly roasted and eaten by so called”Bassa Kwomo militia” who have been at loggerheads with Ebura (Igburra) Mozum ethnic group in the Local Government Area.”
The above wicked sentiment raised by the petty blogger is to say the least very unfortunate. What is the findings of this blogger before he is using Ukomu Igala to cast aspersion on the peace loving Bassa people? As an online blogger has he even visited Bassa land before he decided to sit on the comfort of his room to dent the image of Bassa people? Let it be known to him that if he sat in his room in 2016 and cast aspersion on President Muhammed Buhari for which he was eased out of his job, his write up is worse than cannibalism. He knows so much of cannibalism in his write ups perhaps because he is one.
If Kogi State government viewed his write up in a government organization which he was an employee as an act of insurrection and ease him out of his job, no one needs a soothsayer to understand his background as a doomsday writer, a sadist.
While he is calling on security agents to investigate Bassa people we equally want the security agents to investigate the owner of newsbeatmobile.com.ng antecedents and his write up geared towards escalating violence in Bassa land.
Igalas and Fulanis have been at war at Bagana in Omala Local Government Area and parts of Dekina Local Government Area, this irrendist cum blogger has never written on peace in the area. He has never seen the Igalas
fighting in Omala and Dekina Local Government Areas as cannibals, it is only the Bassa people he deem to call cannibals. His head need to be examined to see if it is in the right order. We strongly believe his aim for casting aspersion on Bassa people is to escalate violence in Bassa land. At the moment the Kogi State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Jaamat Islam in Nigeria (JNI) have met separately with Bassas and Igburras all in a bid to bring lasting peace in Bassa land. These are organization that are just, Godly and are interested in peace for Kogi state citizenry. Unfortunately the publisher of newsbeatmobile.com.ng hiding under Ukomu Igala is a rabble rouser and a disaster to the peace loving Igala people.
For long we have been told that some individuals in Igala land are forming alliance with Igburrras to annex Bassa land. We have been investigating this allegations only for God in his infinite mercy to reveal one of such evil persons in the person of the publisher of newsbeatmobile.com.ng. Today we know you.
On the allegations that “Igala people in the area (Bassa land) are living on perpetual fear of being waylaid, killed and beaten by those who claim to be fighting for the rights of Bassa Kwomo people.” Nothing can be farther from the truth.
Let the wicked blogger know today and forever that Bassas and Igalas have remained in peace for ages in Bassa land. Before this senseless blogger was born, Igala merchants have always troop Sheria market every five days to buy farm produce from Bassa people without any threat from Bassa people. Igalas buy farm produce at cheap prizes in every Sheria market and resell it with wide profits across other markets in many states of the federation. Simply put, Bassa people have contributed immensely to the economic empowerment of many Igala entrepreneurs.
Since the war broke out in 2016 in Bassa land to date, Igalas with their buses and taxis kept partronizing Sheria market every five days to date. which of the Igalas has been waylaid and killed? Well we are not surprised at the serial evil antics of the blogger.For if he can orchestrate a senseless write up against President Buhari which caused Kogi State government to ease him out of his job in 2016, he can go to any length to destroy any group of people. A leapord, it is often said, cannot change its skin.
It is most curious that the Igburra Mozum that are fighting Bassa people since 2016 to date have never raised an allegation referring to Bassa people as cannibals. We wonder the affront of the publisher of newsbeatmobile.com.ng in labelling Bassa people as cannibals. We may be forced to believe that the blogger might be a cannibal to know how it taste and look like.
It is our candid advice to the blogger of newsbeatmoblie.com.ng to stop dragging the good name of Ukomu Igala to the mud. His write up is capable of escalating violence in Bassa land contrary to the efforts being currently made by Kogi CAN and JNI to bring lasting peace in Bassa land.
Let the blogger be warned not to make use of the free social media space to be promoting unnecessary sentiment against the peace loving Bassa people. We equally can use the free social media space to create a blog to match him word to word at any given time. Interestingly Bassa people are peace loving, they dont embark on violent acts nor write ups but if you touch their eyelids in whichever means they will respond without any fear.
In the interest of peace we advice the blogger to tender an unreserved apology to Bassa people on his unfounded allegations or else Bassa people through BASSA RAINAISSANCE will resort to lawful means to drag him to the laws of the land for him to prove his allegations against the peace loving Bassa people.
