Former Works and Housing Commissioner In Kogi, Engr. James Onoja Abu For Burial February 4th, 2022.


 

 

The family of Late Engr. James Onoja Abu, former Kogi State Commissioner for Works and Housing, who died on the 27th of December, 2021 following a brief illness has been released.

 

According to a family Statement signed by Engr. Pius Abu
for the family, the Late
Engr. James Onoja Abu will be buried February 4th, 2022 at his Country Home, Alafo-Ofante-Ogugu, Olamaboro L.G.A.

In an Obituary Announcement which reads thus:

With heavy heart and total submission to the will of Almighty God, we announce the death of Engr. James Onoja Abu, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, father-in-law and brother.

Engr. James Onoja Abu died on the 27th of December, 2021 following a brief illness at the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja aged 71 years. Engr. James Onoja Abu was until his death, a former Commissioner for Works and Housing in Kogi State, under the Civilian Administration of Late Prince Abubukar Audu between 1999 and 2003.

Before his appointment as a Member of the Kogi State Executive Council, Engr. James Onoja Abu held various positions in the Benue and Kogi State Civil Service and rose to the rank of Director General, Kogi State Ministry of Works, Transport and Housing before his voluntary retirement in 2003.

The late Engr. James Onoja Abu is survived by his wife, Mrs. Comfort Abu a Medical Practioner, four (4) children, and eight (8) grandchildren, brothers, sisters, cousins, uncles, nieces and nephews.

The Children include Ms. Irene Abu- an Educationist, Engr. Pius Abu- a Highway Consultant, Mrs. Diana Abu- a Banker, and Mr. Solomon Abu- a Town Planner.

The burial programme is as follows:
• February 2nd, 2022 by 4pm: Service of songs at his Lokoja Residence at G.R.A, Lokoja.

• February 3rd, 2022: Body leaves Kogi State Specialist Hospital, for Ofante Ogugu, Olamaboro L.G.A, Kogi State.

• February 4th, 2022: Burial ceremony at his Country Home, Alafo-Ofante-Ogugu, Olamaboro L.G.A.
